Recon Thatchers was founded in 1983 by the present owner, Bertus Nieuwenhuis. It started off with swimming pools. After a succesful completion af a pool (17m X 7m) with an island and a thatch umbrella, the demand was big for thatch umbrellas. With the help of other thatchers from Gauteng, they started building thatches themself. Today, RECON THATCHERS is a leader in thatching.
We only do thatching, and no swimming pools.
